EDIT: Me and Kyle talked and brainstormed a new idea as well, so I'll throw that in at the end of this.
A.) Outlaws
- Start with a clean slate, and you've known each other for awhile, working in X line of work (cowboys,Pinkerton Guards gone wrong, miners, etc.) who find that their line of work isn't appealing enough and decide to start some trouble. Or even just a group who all know each other and decide to form a gang. And then subsequently create a name for themselves and end up being wanted men.
- Already are a gang of outlaws who have built a name for themselves, and we continue from then on out.
- Fresh recruits to the Texas Rangers who are thrown together in a group with a well-established leader. Who then do what rangers do... kill bandits, kill Indians, and track down outlaws.
- Pinkerton Detective Agency recruits. Basically the same as the Rangers, except you'd function outside of Texas, and mainly just track down outlaws.
- Already established members of either group above.
- Hired guns guarding a train / stagecoach.
NEW IDEA
Ok, the other idea me and Kyle came up with was that the pc's are a group of freelance mercenaries that in general do the highest bidder's dirty work. Think sort of like the ICA organization from the Hitman games. But instead of just dealing in making hits, you would be doing all sorts of things, just so from a game perspective it would keep things fresh. One session you could be sent to Prague to assassinate some ambassador from X country. To prevent it from being complete run and gun it'd be easy to throw in requirments for the hits. And for another episode you could be required to head to some rich fogey's villa in south America to steal some information for blackmail, where you would be required to not get caught. I'm not exactly sure on time period here, I'm leaning toward modern day just because it would make variety easier. But I'm open to trying either this, or the Wild West game. This, as Kyle pointed out to me, might be easier to pull off seeing as each session would be like an episode, so I could have you guys do something akin to whatever your/my fancy is that week.
I'm just wondering what you guys would find most interesting, because the more you're into it, the more I'll be into it. If you couldn't tell, I'm trying to establish you all in the same group and with somewhat the same goals in all the options. I don't want to have to deal with PC1 hating PC2's guts, or any other commonly played out instance. But anyways, that's just a few rough ideas for you. So, lemme know what of the above you would prefer, and why. Also if you have any suggestions they're more than welcome.

Well man I like what we were talking about tonight. But in refernce to this I would go with either the Texas ranger speil or as outlaws in general. Frankly I'm not picky I just want a good fire fight and the like you know what I mean.
You could always set that new idea in the same period as the Wild West. It was a pretty big period of change in the U.S. anyway, what with Reconstruction, the rise of big business and mass urbanization.
As far as the West goes, I can see working for Pinkerton working out well. Not quite lawless, but still above the law to some degree.
I'm totally up for anything though, dude.
I thought about that, but then I don't know how well variety would work there. I'd rather have it so you can be anywhere in the world in a max of 24 hours.
btw, kyle, check out this link:

It's a Kings of Leon song that got released a while back as a double ep with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club... I think it kicks ass... Woo Hoo!
Woo Hoo! Yeah anywho like I said I fancy the new idea a bit more than the West cause it is so versatile. That right there will make evrything stay fresh and hopefully you'll be into it longer. But don't get me wrong I aint got no problem stompiing a mudhole in someone with me 'ole snake boots either. If you wanna talk more you know how to reach me
I felt a pang of inspiration when I reread this post when you edited it.
I think it speaks for itself; the quality and specificity of the piece gets lost at the bottom, but whatever.
Lawman
Come on. It'd be awesome.
ok, I've read what you've said over at least six times, and I'm still confused. What about my edited part? and what about quality and specificity? And that sketch is ridiculous... lol and cool.
The specificity thing refers to detail and clarity of the doodle.
And I meant that, when I read the proposed Western scenario a second time, (after you had edited it) I felt inspired to draw that.
ahh alright, so it was about the doodle, makes SO much more sense now lol
Ok, and Josh, do you have any preference over what we do? Or are you just being passive?
No strong feelings one way or another. I like them both, and I'll give each one equal time for further exploration. If I reach a concession, I'll let you know.
Here's the other link I was talking about kyle here I love the guitar parts in the slow bits... anyways, I've decided that I'm going to do the second idea because it's less work for me, and, thats good cuz i wont run away from it then... and we won't have to remember that much story between the sessions.
Ok that is a groovy Song got alota bass.
Anywho I'm glad you made up yer mind. And even so I'm glad it was with this idea here. Now than are we doing characters as a group or seperate and coming together?
Heck yes it is lol. Umm, I haven't decided on that yet, most likely separate seeing as when we get together to play we don't have that much time usually. But If you're going to take a class other than tough / strong / fast.... I reccomend you cross class. Btw, I'm looking at i think level 3 for this. Not 100% sure yet. Either way, come up with idea's for characters and post em so I know what everyone is gonna play.
Hey homies, I'm in Germantown for the weekend, lez' chill or somethin'
<('.'<) <('.')> (>'.')>
(this is Bryan, I forgot my password...again)
Couldn't you have said something sooner? I could have made an effort to get home this weekend, but at the moment I have to much work to do...
Meh, s'all good :) Was barely home as it was, family kept me pretty busy. That said, my spring break is from the 21st to the 30th of March.
Oh, and Body Worlds is freaking awesome.
I'll make a post so we can discuss the new campaign. I'll include some sections for us to edit when you want to talk about our characters. We can collaborate in the comments and get a sort of "communal creation" if we want.
