Alex' Character-
Michael River
Born on November 1st, 1981 in Los Angeles to a pair of private investigator parents, Michael is the very definition of child prodigy. Lightyears ahead of his peers, he graduated from Oxford at the age of 14 and is widely known among his colleagues for helping to solve the Seattle "Hangman Murders" case at only 12. Throughout his younger years he had great interest and skill in tinkering with electronics and computer equipment. At 16 he was admitted into the FBI serving jointly within the Law Enforcement Services Branch and the Information Technology Operations Division (where he engineered several advances in the methods of electronic law enforcement).
This is not to say he's perfect. Far from it. As one might expect, he has nearly zero social skills. He also sometimes forgets the limits of the "normal" human mind which, coupled with his high level of stubborness, has led to many sleepless nights for those working with him. In short, he always needs to win. Indeed, he's seen as rather childish, in large part due to his affinity for toys. It was not uncommon to walk in on him studying a list of criminals on a computer screen from an intricate Lego castle or making a breakthrough in a case while a remote-control helicopter flew around the room.
Of course this is all moot, now that he's been let go from the position. They say its for taking a case "too far", whatever that means. After repeated attempts to get back into contact with the organization, he's found that it's almost as if the past three years of his life never happened. Not that this matters for anyone besides Michael, as he had preferred to stay out of the limelight anyway, but for him it feels as if he's lost a game he didn't even realize he was playing. And this frustrates him greatly. But if this shadowy "agency" is any indication, the game's not up just yet.
Classes: Smart with Techie at later levels, possibly Investigator.
Kyle's Character-
Hurnandez del Toro
Hurnandez was born in 1973 in Havannah Cuba. All his life he knew nothing but the rule of Castro and as such he aspired to be part of it. By the age of 16 he enliseted into the army and had made a name for himself hunting down rebels. But later he pushed himslf even farther and joined the ranks of Castro's secret police. Herer he would walk the streets of Havannah looking for anything anti Castro and "reeducate" the sukca on the opposite end. In one particular incident he got envolved in uncovering a coo set up the the CIA. Through that effort and the fact that he had killed one of the CIA agents he got promoted to the rank of Sergent.
By the age of 28 he was ready to blow that popsicile stand. Several attemps had been made on his life via rivals to his position. He secretly planned a fake death and high tailed it out of the country. Looking for work from abroad. When one day he got a message from "the Agency" to do some work abroad. He accepted and has been doing so for 2 years now.
Josh's Character-
Gerard Didriksen
Gerard was born on [April 28th, 1978] at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He grew up in the Hyde Park district on the South Side. When he was 14 he began working at the lakefront docks for his uncle Eddy. Through Eddy's various ties with The Outfit, Gerard was eventually introduced and indicted into the notorious gang in a more or less auxiliary fashion. (Oddly enough, Gerard was related to Frank and Pete Gusenberg, two of the victims of the St. Valentines Day Massacre. Small world.)
He worked with The Outfit for a few years, acting with his uncle in the disposal of unwanted baggage. A few times, he was asked to accompany a small group of gang muscle in shaking down a reluctant business. On one such occasion, when he was 22, he was called to join 2 or 3 other men in guarding his caporegime, John Carlisi. The other party sought retribution for a previous grievance, and upon sighting the group, greeted them with a barrage of gunfire. Gerard was wounded, and was one of two people to escape the fight alive. With the help of the other fellow, Francis, Gerard successfully carried out the grisly series of untraceable murders that evened things out, and then some. His true talents now finally recognized, Gerard spent the next 3 years as a paid assassin and gun for hire.
When he was 25, he left Chicago and, with his reputation in the American underworld helping to grease the wheels, became known throughout the world as a fearsome killer and corporate assassin.
Crunch is here.

uhh, I'm actually having a hard time decideing what to play any suggestions? I was think a martail artiist type guy or a sniper what you guys think?
Do you think you'll be using either one exclusively? In the d20 system it's better to specialize (unless you are a caster or techmancer, of course) but at one point in your characterization you should consider how diverse you want your skillset.
Did we pick a time period? What kind of technology will we have access to?
Yeah, a timeframe would help a lot. I'll have to change damn near everything if it's set in, like, the 1500s.
How the hell do we edit this to put our character in?
You should be able to sign in and edit the post, either by clicking on the pencil icon in the lower right of the post or by doing it longhand. (Manage>Posts>Edit, etc.)
I'll check your privileges, but I thought I gave you all admin status.
year:2000
josh, whats the meaty stuff about your character; class, etc.
Also, it's in your best interests to diversify the group some, somebody should be somewhat good with technology, and someone should have a silver-tongue to a degree... It's not all going to be stand there and kill.
Did you decide on third level?
And tell me if I'm being too unrealistic or whatever.
3rd level. and it won't work with having ties to the government... also it sounds like your guy has been in the public eye. this agency (idk what im gonna call it yet) is seen as illegal to the government publicly. so with you being known, and working / worked with the gov. it won't work out. I want the characters to be relative unknowns. The prodigy aspect is perfectly fine, just that the characters should be more or less ghosts. You can keep some of the stuff if you want for your history but you'll have to have a good reason why the world might think you're dead or gone... also no mobilizing police forces.
I don't want you to think I'm bashing your guy at all, it's a good concept, I love the techy aspect.
And you mentioning the procurement thing. I was talking to Kyle about this, and I've decided that your team is generally going to be 'on your own' no real fancy gadgets, not that much assistance from the agency. The main assistance they will provide is money. It's easy to transfer and easy to disguise if you come under scrutiny. Think of it like this, if you get killed and have some high-tech gadgets / strange items that aren't widely available it's going to raise a lot more eyebrows than if you're found carrying stuff you yourself found and purchased on the black-market. That being said, you will have to procure all your equipment for the job when you arrive on location. The agency does have contacts in most major cities around the world for this purpose, and they will do their best to find what you want. Small items can be transferred; think pistols, small gadgets you own... no light-fifties josh. but you can try and find one to buy.
As far as the party make-up goes... we have a techy and two gunslingers. Your party is very anti-social. If no one can be persuaded to switch classes or anything (I don't wanna do that because you made your guys and all that)anyways, if no one switches, I think I'll have to raise the level so one of you can take at least some charismatic class / be able to be social. I know Kyle and Josh's guys have cha 10, and Alex, I'm assuming is quite low as well.
Alex - Oxford? And he lived in LA?
I think you mean Stanford. Oxford's in England.
I'd recommend increasing the level cap. I realize we're not supposed to be super heroes or anything, but 3rd level represents someone like a punk who's been through Coast Guard ROTC.
6-8th, I'd think, would represent the "trained killer" we're after.
Not so much in the public eye, he was much more of a behind-the-scenes guy. Like you wouldn't see his name on the news.
The FBI-to-agency thing would, I imagine would involve destroying all records of his employment and loss of all the powers and authority he had with the FBI. But yeah, it probably would be hard to forget a character like that if you worked with him.
As far as Oxford goes, being an ocean away from his family contributed to his current social detatchedness.
Will tidy up this weekend in any case.
Fine, fine. Just nitpicking since they all but stopped accepting people under 17 since 2005.
And as the skies parted, a thunderous voice was heard, "It shall be level six." And so it was done.
I'm a fast 4 Charismatic 2 and I's got them Dos banditos puntas
And all rejoiced. And it was good.
What sources are available? I'd kind of like to take some advanced class(es) but the ones in the main sourcebook are like Hoovers.
run anything you wanna use by me first, and I'll let you know
I wanted to take 3 levels of Field Officer from d20 Future (Bringing my build to Fast3/Field Officer3). All it would serve to do is give me a better BAB and defense progression, a useful aid another ability, and a defense-boost 1/day.
I can call the class something else if you want, but those are the abilities that I think would be useful.
yeah, i suppose that'll be fine, and the name is cool, it'd reflect you having experience in working / leading teams. if anyone else wants to look at the d20 future advanced classes: here
Full sheet's up. I'll leave the skills for later...

Even though he's the father of a hobby I've only been in for about five years, still a pretty big :(
When are we gonna play? I have off the entire week staring Friday, so whenever is cool with you guys is cool with me.

Dude, Eddie Izzard is going to perform in the student center at MCAD on the 16th of March, badass :D
Saturday cool?
Not for me, I'm afraid. Plans have been made. Wheels have been set in motion.
The UWM system, annoyingly, has their spring break the week of the sixteenth.
How about Wednesday I get off at 4, or next Saturday I get off at 5. Up to you guys
Wednesday is fine with me. Then, maybe sometime this weekend as well.
Wednesday I work till 9 and have school the next day.
Any night on the weekend, however.
If Alex can't come wednesday I say we wait 'til Saturday. Unless you'd want to run your game or something, for mine I want everyone to be there. Either way, it doesn't matter, I'm still free Wednesday and Saturday.
Saturday it is.
If anyone wants to "hang out" or "bro it up" in the meantime, you know damn well I have nothing to do nor anywhere to go.
Lousy jerks and your staggered breaks...
Alright I'll be there around 5. And Cody did you get that thing I sent you?
yes i got 'that thing you sent me' thanks
news from kyle. he won't be getting off until 7 on saturday. I will, however, still be coming at 5.
Freaking A I have a whole week of school still :P
I'll be home sometime next Friday (the 21st) in the afternoon.
Damn. At least you get to see Eddie, right?
Yeah, suppose so ;)
